PennReady Event: Building a Disaster-Resistant and Resilient Community

PennReady "Prevention, Preparedness, Response, & Recovery"You are invited! Join us on Friday, September 26th as Public Safety provides a day of activities on safety, preparedness, and building a resilient community  along with our many campus partners! The PennReady event will begin with a Speaker Series on Preparedness for Summer 2026 events from 10:00am-11:30am, followed by a Health and Safety Fair from 11:30am-1:30pm. The Safety Fair will include a test of the UPennAlert emergency notification system at 12pm, followed by a CPR Awareness Instruction and then special side-by-side burn demonstration at 12:30pm which will show the speed and power of a residential fire, along with the impact of fire sprinklers. Don’t miss the Penn Dining Firehouse Chili Cook Off Competition, from 11:30am until they run out! Winners announced at 1:30!

First responders will be on site to share education on CPR and stop-the-bleed first aid, free food and giveaways, as well as many  partners on hand to share safety and wellness information with the community. Participants and supporters include the Penn Vet Working Dog Center, Penn Dining, MERT, Penn’s Office of Risk Management, the Philadelphia Fire Department, The National Fire Sprinkler Association, and many, many more!

The FIFA World Cup 2026 will bring soccer fans from all over the world to Philadelphia, potentially in the hundreds of thousands, across 39 days. This presentation will describe some of the public health issues arising from mass gatherings and how the Philadelphia Department of Health will address them.

Secure your spot during Friday, September 26, 2025 between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM for a visit and prepare for an immersive journey through our cutting-edge exhibit.
Step aboard the FM Risk Prevention Truck where you’ll confront the key hazards challenging your business and uncover proven strategies to ensure resilience.
Your personal tour of the FM Risk Prevention Truck will take around 30 minutes. Please make sure to arrive 5 minutes prior to the start of your session.
We ask for your response no later than September 19, 2025 as registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
